Itching and aching

Last night we stayed at home. That's gotten to be a bit of a pattern for us: staying in on a Friday night. I suspect that Cynical was hoping for dining out, but I was perfectly content to snack on stuff in the pantry and lay on the couch.

You see, these days I seem to be falling apart and am wondering if I am even presentable for public consumption. (Really, I was just too tired and lazy to go out, and this was as good an excuse than any.) I have always been clumsy, but lately it's gotten a little worse, probably because my life is requiring lots of trapeze-like moves and juggling.

Most recently I gored myself with some sort of device designed to hold golf bags while I was volunteering at an event. It hurts and it was embarrassing. Not a good combination.

I stubbed the toe next to my little toe not long ago (something I have done regularly) and whenever it rains, I get an awful throbbing pain in that little bitty toe. And since we have had a lot of rain, there's been a lot of throbbing.

And then there are the 14 mosquito bites I have peppered all over my body. I was only in the yard briefly and yet I was still a feast for those buzzing +*&^%$.

I also have this mystery rash in the inside of my upper left arm. We are blaming that on yard work too. It only itches when I want to sleep or get hot. Well, I gotta sleep and well, it's hot, so that's no fun at all. Oh, and it's very attractive and appetizing. I am certain we won't be invited out to dinner any time soon.

For the first time in years I have a huge zit on my chin. It's not any zit, mind you, it's one of those that's connected to every nerve in your body. I have used my tried-and-true method of removal: alternating between astringent and Neosporin, but the combination hasn't reduced it in the slightest. It too adds to my attractive factor.

I am starting to wonder if someone out there has a voo-doo doll with light brown hair, pretty red toenails, cat hair stuck to its chest and tiny fingers. And they are torturing it regularly. . .

Above is a shot of my nephew tackling the first row of his project. Yes, the needles are pink, but they light up. He's secure enough in his boyhood to use pink needles.

I was in NC and Joy showed me that photo and said "Wow, that's more of Ragged than we've EVER seen before. Like ever. At all." Now I actually read it and it's not even you.
