Last night I went to my regular knitting group and as I sat there surrounded by all of those women chatting, I had to think, "This is what everyone needs."
By that I mean that everyone would be much better off if we had three hours a week where we laughed at ourselves and each other, said what was on our mind without reprecussion and felt like we belonged.
PS: A few finished objects in the section at right if you are interested. . .
Just a shot to remember Sunday morning. I was making coffee and had everything lined out for us and I just snapped the moment in time. Colors courtesty of Fiestaware.

I agree with you. One of my goals when I have moved is to develop some friendships with people who have shared interests. I remember as a very small child that my mother went to or held quilting bees. We lived on a farm, so this ritual was a very important one for socializing. We kids loved to play on the floor under the quilt which was in a frame and resting on back of chairs. The women pulled up chairs between those which held the quilt, and while they stitched on the fabric, they chattered away. I remember my mother laughing a lot during those bees, something she didn't do as much in her day to day life. Her life was hard then. Farming can be good, but when the crops weren't good, life was terribly challenging. I want that kind of "leave the world behind" activity, too.
And thank you for that memory
I envy your Fiestaware collection!
I think laughing releases endorphins...You're on your way to a whole new exercise regime : .)
