I went to the doctor. I let her feel my glands. I let her check my throat. I even let her check my temperature IN MY EAR (before you start thinking nasty thoughts.) I answered about 50 questions.
I left with a 30-day supply of Allegra-D, some nasal spray (which I have no intention of using), a perscription for an antibiotic (just in case) and the diagnosis of severe adult onset allergies (or something like that).
I don't like medications. I don't like not being able to breathe even more, so I took the lesser of the two evils. Now, I am flying high as a kite, daydreaming and talking with a very sexy masculine voice.
I can breathe, so it's all worth it. There is a threat that this will interupt my sleep, however, which is causing me, and I am certain Cynical, some added anxiety, as:
No sleep
+ medications inducing hyperactive behavior
+ already cranky patient
+ impending busy weekend =
one big old nasty, crusty nosed, fussy, b*tchy Ragged

Sorry to hear you needed drugs, but glad to hear you're feeling a little better...
This reminds me of the time Phoebe caught cold on Friends & had the sexy voice. You could start singing in coffee houses.
If the nasal spray is flonase, I fully reccomend it. I used it when I had horrible, steroid necessasary allergies and it took care of them without the wierd jittery feeling other meds gave me.
Dang all this and only a few days until your B'day. Get better soon!
that sucks but it's good to read that you've still got your sense of humor. :) that part about the crusty nose - gross, but made me LOL! ;)
But i really hope you feel better before the weekend!
I hear you on the nasal spray, but a few years ago I found that nasal spray alone does more than all the other stuff together! Icky, but effective. Happy wellness thoughts to you!
I can second the nasal spray...I use the same and it's wonderful!
I was hit hard with adult onset allergies and man they suck! Yuck Yuck and more Yuck! When I was a kid, I was envious of a friend with bad allergies and asthma (I have that now too. Thanks), I wished I could be her. Kinda like wishing you could break your arm and have a cast! I always keep a box of the Breath Right Nasal strips on hand and they work like a charm as far as helping you breath. Try 'em. They're not pretty, but comfy. But, I'm aslo heavily medicated and shot twice a week!
