Sharing the bounty

One of the many budding irises in our back yard. All of the plants in our yard were given to us out the gardens of our friends and family. I like the idea of "recycling" plants from their yards and putting it all together to make a garden of our own. It has a sense of community to me.

What a beautiful color. Sharing plants is a really good idea. I've never thought of doing that. I'm sure you also think of the friend who gave you the plant whenever it blooms.

I've got some peonies that came from my grandmother's garden, then went to my mother's, then to ours. My sister calls them legacy flowers.

I love the idea of sharing plants.

Me too! I do think of whoever gave it to me when I see the flower flourish! When you move, come to me, I got all kinds!
