I wanted to make something that seemed organic, utilitarian and functional. This is what I came up with. I haven't made anything using an Elizabeth Zimmerman pattern, but I know that she encourages the intuition and the tastes of the individual knitter, so this was right up my alley. I love her prose. I love her attitude. This was knit with Noro Kureyon and I am not always a fan of the way the rough wool feels. However, for this project, it seemed fitting. I loved how "raw" these came out and I am so very intrigued by the colorway, which was just happenstance and luck. The construction was so very simple and so very natural. I didn't "snip" the yarn as she suggested to make the thumb; I used her thumb trick and am pleased with the outcome.
