For the past three years I have watched each weekend as a neighborhood teenage boy, tethered to a pushmower, walks up and down the street, presumably in search of mowing jobs. His head is hung low and his tennis shoes are a permanent shade of kelly green. Seeing him for the first time signals the start of summer to me. This year he added a weed eater. Summer is officially on.
And I got a pedicure. . . bring on the sunshine.
