Despite the fact that is has rained NONSTOP all day, we still made the most of our time. Our day, once again, started with a very nice breakfast here at the inn. We seemed to have snagged the latest breakfast reservation, which is a good thing as Cynical and I slept so very late this morning. Seems vacationing is hard work.
We went started our Wednesday at every sportsman's mecca: The Bass Pro Shop. Inside you could find just about every single thing you might ever need to survive in the wild, and a lot of dead animal displays. Seriously, there were a lot of dead animals. Lions, tigers and bears, oh, my! After lunch at Hemingway's we made our way to Simply Fibers where we did not find Malabrigo as we had hoped, but I did leave with some lace weight yarn and a pattern. (Our fellow male travelers hung out at the bookstore while we perused.)We warmed up over coffee at Cassil's and headed back to the inn to dry out. And it's still raining. This gave me a chance to check in on the real world, calling my buddies, cat sitter and folks back home. Just a little reality to get us through. . . we're back in vacation mode.

Rain didn't dampen our Thursday
Our night was capped with dinner at the Springfield Brewing Company and once again coffee at The Mudhouse. Off to bed soon as throat hurts still and I am one tired girl. Hoping the rain will break tomorrow and we can visit some of the parks including a trolling garden and maybe a loop through downtown. It's hard to believe that tomorrow is our last full day of vacation.

At Bass Pro we tried our hand at the shooting arcade.
I told you there were a lot of dead animals.
