It's odd. . . this living in a new house. It doesn't quite feel like home for some reason. Today we made one last trip over to the little house we once loved and we were sad. For some reason we're both a tad homesick. Can you have a wonderful new home of your own and be missing the old one?
In other news, we are settling in slowly here. We finally, thanks to a break in the weather, got to take a walk this morning. . . and again this afternoon. Oh, and I made the short trek to the library to pick up some DVDs. (We still don't have television service. I'm watching the first season of "Mad About You" out of desperation, but I am loving it. Great banter.) I'd wanted to watch a flick delivered to us via Blockbuster, but it was busted and rendered useless. I even took a short nap on the porch. Don't tell anyone because I am sure they'll think I should be out ordering furniture, hanging pictures or something productive. I was a slacker today.
It was a busy weekend, my folks hosted their annual family/friends reunion. My brother, his incredible wife and amazing son came with all of the fixin's for home-made ice cream and Italian ice. Great chance to visit everyone; so fun to show everyone the new house. Wishing that they lived closer.
Goals for the upcoming week: gaining television service, getting some "stuff" situated around here that makes it feel like home (ie finding my ceramic bowl that says "I'm the Girl That Likes To Twirl"), perhaps installing those pesky door stops and maybe even finding grown up living room furniture.
