last night I decided that I needed to go through all of my CDs and pare them down a bit. It's hard for me to part with music and books. I think it's the whole idea that I might, one day, be in the mood for a little Bill Withers or a good Mark Twain read. You just never know when that temperment might hit you. I can tell you, however, that I haven't had a Bill Withers mood or even a twinge of Mark Twain desire in quite some time. But you never know.
So, last night, before a meeting (which is important to note because that gave me a timeline to work with and kept the CD review from dragging out over the entire evening or for days on end) I sat in the middle of the floor in our den (can't call it a family room, as we don't have a family) and went through box after box of CDs. (They are still in boxes, mind you, because our behemoth sized CD bookcase won't fit down the &^%$# stairs.)
I couldn't part with ABBA's Golden Hits or that Del Amitri CD that took me back to a special place in time or that Justin Timberlake CD that makes me dance in the car. I also uncovered some gems I had forgotten about, including Jackson Browne's Greatest Hits. I listened to this all the way to work this morning.

Yummy...... Jackson Browne.
Yep. I'll have to go download that song now. I'll probably be singing it all day. (Singing in my head...people cringe when I sing out load!)
I can rarely part with a CD or a book either. And you should never apologize for not being able to part with Abba Gold. It's classic. (well, for some of us.)
I adore Jackson Brown!!
