Nashville revisited

Wrapped up my conference and my most recent visit to Nashville on Wednesday and headed on back home. Jakob Dylan accompanied me until I made a stop by Crafty Hands in Bowling Green where I purchased too much yarn and soaked up their incredible customer service. Unfortunately, the stars did not align for a visit with Art. I did, however, get a chance to visit with an old college friend, admire her beautiful daughters and meet her charming new husband.

Just a few parting shots:
-Went with a fellow conference goer to tour Hatch Show Prints, a printing shop that still creates event posters using block-letter presses and hand-matched inks. Incredible. Just a pic of one wall of the shop showing some of their work. Next one shows the wall of wood and lead type. I knew I was in a good spot whenever I read the sign shown here, which was taped to the front door. The last one is a shot of their illuminated sign. This place was a graphic designer or artist's playground. Beautiful fonts, incredibly simplistic yet interesting layout, wonderful smell of inks and wood type.

-The same conference colleague and I toured the Ryman Auditorium as well. You know it best as the original home of the Grand Ole Opry. Such a beautiful building, refurbished in the late 80s with extreme care. I must see a show at this place. You can also see a poster from Patty Griffin's appearance there. . . printed at none-other-than Hatch Show Prints.

-Just a shot of the beautiful blue sky on the US Bank building.
