Distracting from my newly whitened teeth

First and foremost, a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY goes out to Kissed Knitter. Run on over there and wish her the most wonderful of days. . .

I got a chance to spend some time with the birthday girl, pre-the-big-day, by inviting her to my house last night for some shelter from the rain, pizza and knitting. Oh, and some good old fashioned venting about how employment definitely cramps our style. Oh, to be independently wealthy.

And just because it makes me laugh repeatedly, a transcript of a recent actual e-mail conversation:

Ragged: Are your tweezers here?

Friend o' Ragged: No! Sorry! I took them out of my makeup bag Saturday and I guess I didn't put them back!

Ragged: It's my job to keep a brush here. It's yours to keep tweezers. Wasn't that the deal?

Friend o' Ragged: I slipped up. I had some tweezing to do!

Ragged: And I have the crazy hair on my chin and no way to remove it.

Friend o' Ragged: I have some scissors? Or, I could call and get some hedgetrimmers.

Ragged: I have this huge fear that I will get a bunch like my grandmother. Instead, though, I get one hair and it isn't there one minute and it's there the next. It's a curse and is totally distracting people from my newly whitened teeth.

Friend o' Ragged: I don't think ANYTHING could distract from those beautiful, pearly whites!

Ragged: They are blinding, aren't they?

Friend O'Ragged: I am going to bring my black light in tomorrow and we'll go in the closet.

Ragged: Better bring your sunglasses too.
